Lesson 4 (126 Words)

Hey, for lesson 4, we continued on the 2nd assignment that was linked to our previous one. This time, we were required to add borders and a background design to the website. If we were not given the codes for the background and border, we would most probably fail it.. Ya but we were given the codes. However, there were errors and things missed out from the codes so the assignment will not be that easy. We had to save the correct codes for the background and border in a 'css' format then link the 'css' file to the HTML codes. It was much harder than the earlier one >< We still managed to complete it in time. It was more enriching and challenging to complete.

Lesson 3 (135 Words)

Hi. I wasn't in school for the 3rd Lesson as I was moving house. Therefore, I couldn't go to school. Neither did I have Internet Connection, disabling me from accessing the Internet to see what my class learnt for the 3rd lesson. However, once I got back my Internet connection, I managed to see the slides. The assignment given was on HTML codes. We were supposed to pair up with someone to complete an assignment. It was to type out the script for a website he created and post it on Electric-Message-Board. It had to be as same as possible. It was a little hard as there were some typo errors :/ that caused us to find out the cause of it for a long time. Then we realised it was the typo error -.-

Lesson 2 (183 Words)

For Lesson 2, we did not really do much. Mr Cheong simply taught us how to create an account to access the discussion panel in his website. For those who managed to create in time, we did in class. While the rest went home to do so. We were told to post a reflection on some of the videos he posted on his website, based on our registration number. The reflection have to be at least 100 words. After doing so, we are required to comment on our peer's reply in that same forum, disagreeing or agreeing with his point of view. We too have to go to another discussion panel, look at the video assigned to that group, read the reflections by our peers and reply to them. The reply have to be of 50 words minimum for both replies. Also, we are supposed to comment something relavent to the post by our peers, with a reason for your comment. This is an assignment given to us every week. This blog is to be updated with his lessons after every lesson too.

Lesson 1 (338 Words)

On our 1st lesson, we learnt about The Internet & 'WWW'. What exactly is WWW? We see this in almost every URL- Uniform Resource Locator. WWW stands for World Wide Web. We also found out how the Internet has grown over the years, increasingly. The history of Internet, how it works, basically almost everything about Internet or related to Internet was taught. Plug-ins are programmes that extend the capability of an Internet browser, that can be downloaded for free from many websites. Web publishing is the development and maintenance of a web. One very important thing that takes place in the Internet is E-Commerce. Without it, you will not be able to earn money on the Internet, or buy items on the Internet. The 'E' is short-form for Electronic. So, it is now obvious that E-mail is also Electronic mail. We all know what an E-mail is, everyone needs one for business or work.
A URL starts with 'http'. So what exactly is that? It is HyperText Transfer Protocol. Some of us might also have seen 'FTP'. FTP simply means File Transfer Protocol. The 'TP' in 'FTP' and 'HTTP' is the same. FTP allows you to download or upload files with other computers on the Internet. A Newsgroup is a discussion panel whereby you talk about one particular subject or topic. However, most people or websites will use a Message Board instead as it is much more easier to use.
Internet Telephony lets you talk to someone else on the Internet, as you can tell from the word 'Telephony'. You should know what an etiquette is right? Well there are etiquette for many things like dining etiquette. The net itself also does. The only difference is that it isn't called an etiquette. Instead, it is called a netiquette. Rules are rules. There are rules in the real world, why shouldn't there be rules in the Virtual world? So, we still have to follow the rules of the Internet.
Treat others the way you want them to treat you.
